TRM Leipzig is Co-organiser of the World Conference on Regenerative Medicine

The Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine (TRM) Leipzig co-organises the World Conference on Regenerative Medicine from 29 to 31 October 2009.In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapies and Immunology Leipzig the TRM Leipzig invites international experts from science, research, and clinical application, to intensively exchange on the topic of regenerative medicine.








TRM Leipzig will welcome Bernard Siegel, Director of the Genetics Policy Institute (Wellington, Florida, USA), an expert on legal aspects and regulatory framework of regenerative medicine and research. Professor Thomas Magin (Universität Bonn) will explain the crosstalk between keratinocytes and extracellular matrix. Professor Bruno Christ (Universitätsklinikum Halle/Saale) will hold a lecture on contributions of mesenchymal stem cells to tissue repair after acute hepatic injury.


The Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine Leipzig was founded to efficiently translate research results into new therapeutic and diagnostic products. It selects and funds translational awards to support young researchers as they pursue their own therapyoriented concepts. Research areas of the TRM Leipzig are Tissue Engineering and Materials Science, Cell Therapies for Repair and Replacement, regulatory Molecules and Delivery Systems, and Imaging, Modelling and Monitoring of Regeneration. The centre was established in October 2006 with funds from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, the Free State of Saxony, and the Universität Leipzig.

1.200 participants from all over the world are expected in October at the Congress Center Leipzig. Registrations for scientific contributions are possible until 15 July.
