| Multidisciplinary Research Network on Health and Disability in Europe. Marie Curie Research Training Network - MURINET Project MURINET will form a European pool of experts in health and disability research and management that will be able to combine several multidisciplinary skills within the framework of the ICF model (WHO's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health). The "Kick-off meeting of MURINET took place in Milan, Italy on 28th February 2007. Professor Mathilde Leonardi, Neurological Institute of Carlo Besta IRSSC Foundation is the scientific coordinator of MURINET. Eva Björck-Åkesson, professor at HLK, is coordinator for the Swedish research group and Mats Granlund, professor at HHJ, is scientific leader for the Swedish group. Among the 13 partners are Paedagogische Hochschule Zurich Schweiz, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Itailen, Universitatsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf and Ludwig-Maximilians Universitaet Muenchen, Tyskland, and Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spanien, Institute for Rehabilitation, Slovenien and the World Health Organization (WHO). The project will involve 40 junior researchers across Europe, and will form a network of researchers who will be trained to perform state-of-the art research in public health and disability. The ICF model, which will be the MURINET framework, embodies the principles of full participation, mainstreaming disability and the universality of disability. It has been developed with an NGO representing persons with disability. Eva Björck-Åkesson is part of an international group of researchers who have developed the ICF-CY lead by professors Mathilde Leonardi and Rune J. Simeonsson. Mats Granlund has been responsible for a group working with ICF for the National Board of Health and Welfare. MURINET builds on an EU-project, MHADIE, where CHILD is one of 15 partners. A conference about " Increased participation for children and youth with disability" focusing on the ICF version for children and youth, ICF-CY, will be held at School of Education and Communication, Jönköping, Sweden, May 24-25, 2007. <www.hlk.hj.se> For further information contact; Professor Mats Granlund, phone +46-36-10 12 21, mats.granlund@hhj.hj.se Deans Secretary Lotta Olofson, phone +46- 36-10 15 01, lotta.olofson@hlk.hj.se Weitere Informationen: - http://www.hlk.hj.se Quelle: idw |
